An important community event is coming up: BEDS Plus’ Road to Independence Fundraiser — an evening dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve stable, independent living.

BEDS Plus plays a critical role in providing housing, support services, and case management to people in our community facing homelessness. The “Road to Independence” event raises essential funds to continue this life-changing work.
Special thanks to Mike McNamara of Origin Point for his dedication to raising awareness and support for this cause. As a La Grange resident and business owner, this mission is deeply personal to Mike:
“My sister was married to an abuser for 19 years, and a local safe house program saved her life three different times as she fled on foot with two babies on her hips. I’m on a personal mission to raise awareness of domestic violence, the realities of this abuse in our very own neighborhoods, eliminate the stigma and shame associated with this, and raise money to help women gain their independence back from their abusers.”
Mike also shared how a donated used car once gave his sister the ability to get a job and create stability for her family — a powerful reminder of how community support can change lives.
