Member Relations & Events Associate
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Membership Relations & Events Associate to support the day-to-day operations of the LGBA. This role is a key part of our small but energetic team, assisting with event coordination (including large public-facing events), membership engagement, and administrative tasks that support the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is flexible and able to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed to support LGBA events.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute LGBA’s events, including networking gatherings, community celebrations, and business development programs. Assist with logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site management.
- Membership Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for members, answering inquiries, processing applications, and ensuring members receive the full benefits of their membership.
- Administrative Support: Provide direct support to the Executive Director, including scheduling, data management, and general office tasks.
- Communication & Outreach: Gather and update member information, assist with newsletters, social media updates, and promotional materials as needed.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of memberships, sponsorships, and event participation.
- Flexible Schedule: While this is primarily a Monday-Friday role, occasional evenings and weekends will be required to support LGBA events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience in event management, business administration, or a related field).
- Experience in event planning and coordination is strongly desired.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/membership management software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, for events.
Compensation
$50,000
