La Grange Oktoberfest is powered by volunteers who help bring the community together for a weekend of food, music, activities, and Oktoberfest fun.
Whether you’re looking to earn volunteer service hours, meet new people, support the La Grange community, or just want to be part of the action, we’d love to have you on the team.
Volunteers help us welcome guests, keep activities running smoothly, support festival operations, and create a fun and friendly experience throughout the weekend.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Games & Activities Attendant
Help bring the interactive side of Oktoberfest to life.
Depending on your assignment, you might:
- Assist guests with hands-on games and activities
- Explain how activities work
- Help organize lines and participants
- Set up and replenish activity supplies
- Keep activity areas organized
- Assist festival staff with contests and special activities
This is a great role for volunteers who enjoy interacting with guests and being part of the festival atmosphere.
Merchandise Sales
Help guests take a little bit of Oktoberfest home with them.
Volunteers may:
- Assist guests purchasing Oktoberfest merchandise
- Help organize and display merchandise
- Restock items as needed
- Answer basic questions about available merchandise
- Keep the merchandise area organized and welcoming
Volunteers assigned to sales will receive instructions on the equipment and procedures used during their shift.
Wristband Sales
Help welcome guests and get their Oktoberfest experience started.
Volunteers may:
- Assist with Oktoberfest wristband sales and distribution
- Welcome guests and explain the wristband program
- Answer basic festival questions
- Help keep the wristband area organized
- Direct guests to festival activities, entertainment, food, and beverages
This is a great position for outgoing volunteers who enjoy meeting people and working in a busy festival environment.
Clean Team
Help us keep Oktoberfest looking its best throughout the weekend.
Clean Team volunteers may:
- Walk festival areas and identify areas needing attention
- Help keep tables and common areas neat
- Pick up litter and dispose of waste
- Replace or assist with trash and recycling bags
- Help festival staff respond to cleanup needs

Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or multiple shifts, every volunteer plays a role in creating a great Oktoberfest experience.
Volunteer Requirements
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, La Grange Oktoberfest volunteers are asked to meet the following requirements:
Age Requirement
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
- Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian agree to the required volunteer waiver during the application process.
- Certain volunteer assignments may be limited to volunteers age 21 or older.
Reliability
- Arrive on time for your scheduled shift.
- Stay for the duration of your assigned shift.
- Let festival staff know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
Customer Service
- Be friendly, courteous, and welcoming to guests, vendors, sponsors, performers, and fellow volunteers.
- Help create a positive experience for everyone attending Oktoberfest.
Physical Requirements
Depending on your assignment, volunteers may:
- Stand for extended periods
- Walk throughout the festival grounds
- Lift or carry light supplies
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Work in areas with crowds, music, and elevated noise levels
Dress Code
- Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- Volunteers may be provided with an official volunteer shirt, badge, or other identification.
Training
- Some volunteer positions include a brief orientation before your shift.
- Follow instructions provided by festival staff and volunteer leaders.
Waiver
- All volunteers must agree to the La Grange Oktoberfest Volunteer Waiver and Release during the volunteer application process.
