Providing Clarity, Connection, and Compassion in Neuropsychological Evaluation
La Grange’s newest mental health resource is bringing expert insight and heartfelt care to local families. Hearthstone Testing, founded by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Mirjam Quinn, offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children, teens, and young adults facing challenges related to ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other developmental or learning concerns.

What sets Hearthstone apart? A lot. The practice is composed of four seasoned psychologists with more than 45 years of combined experience and fluency in three languages. Each evaluation is personally conducted by a licensed expert—never a trainee—ensuring thoughtful, thorough care from start to finish. And unlike many clinics constrained by insurance, Hearthstone provides personalized assessments that may include school observations and interviews with teachers or other care providers. Even more impressive? Results are delivered in just 10 days.
The name “Hearthstone” was carefully chosen to reflect the practice’s mission: to be a place that feels like home—warm, grounded, and filled with clarity. Just as the hearth once represented the heart of the home, Hearthstone aims to be a steady and welcoming resource for families navigating uncertainty.
Dr. Quinn was inspired to start Hearthstone after a difficult experience seeking an evaluation for her own child. Frustrated by long waitlists, inconsistent quality, and delayed results, she envisioned a practice that smoothed the path for other families—offering both clinical excellence and emotional support.
“Psychological testing gives us the chance to tell a child’s story in a way that helps everyone around them understand and support them better,” Quinn shared. “That kind of empathy and connection is really powerful.”
Though new to La Grange, Hearthstone already feels at home. Dr. Quinn credits LGBA President Stephanie Posey for introducing her to the warm and connected community. As a new LGBA member, Dr. Quinn is already looking ahead to hosting a grand opening and offering parent workshops.
In the next five years, she envisions the Hearthstone team working full-time, collaborating with at least 25 local organizations, and continuing to provide fast, compassionate answers for families who need them most.
