The La Grange Carnival is one of the community’s longest-standing traditions—bringing together neighbors, families, and local businesses for a weekend that feels like summer at its best. Behind the rides, games, and energy is a team of volunteers who help make it all happen. Whether you’re looking to give back, meet new people, or be part of something that truly brings the community together, there’s a place for you on the team.

Volunteers support the Carnival in a variety of ways throughout the day. Roles are assigned based on availability, interest, and overall event needs to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. During their shift, volunteers may also be asked to assist in different areas as needed.
Serve as a central resource for attendees by answering questions, providing event information, and helping guests navigate the Carnival. This role is ideal for volunteers who are approachable, helpful, and comfortable interacting with the public.
Support one of the most important touchpoints at the Carnival—helping guests purchase tickets and receive wristbands. This role keeps things moving efficiently and ensures a smooth experience for attendees.
Volunteers may be assigned to different responsibilities within this area based on experience and event needs.
Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized environment across the Carnival grounds. Responsibilities may include monitoring trash and recycling, refreshing supplies (including restrooms), and supporting general upkeep throughout the event.
This role is essential to keeping the Carnival comfortable, welcoming, and running smoothly for all attendees.
Support event operations by helping manage supplies such as water, ice, and other materials throughout the day. This role may require the ability to lift and move items.
Jump in where help is needed most throughout the Carnival. This may include assisting with crowd flow, supporting activity areas, or helping staff with general needs. A great option for volunteers who are flexible and ready to be part of the action.
Volunteers typically serve in shifts of approximately 2–3 hours throughout the Carnival. Opportunities are available across multiple days and times, including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
We do our best to match volunteers with roles and shifts based on availability, but flexibility is appreciated—especially during peak and evening hours.
If you are scheduled for a shift, we ask that you arrive on time and plan to stay for the full duration. If something changes, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust coverage.
