Comic book collectors have something special to look forward to this summer.
Downtown La Grange’s Blerds Underground is a Founding Member of Ink Alliance, a new coalition of Black-owned comic retailers working together to create exclusive opportunities for fans, creators, and the comic book industry.
To celebrate the launch, Ink Alliance is releasing an exclusive variant cover for DC’s New Titans #38 featuring artwork by acclaimed comic artist Sanford Greene. The special edition will be limited to just 1,000 copies and will be available for pre-order through participating Ink Alliance comic shops, including Blerds Underground.
According to Blerds Underground, Ink Alliance was created to demonstrate what’s possible when Black comic retailers work together—strengthening independent comic shops, creating opportunities for Black creators, and helping shape the future of the comics industry through collaboration.
The store also thanked DC Comics for helping bring the project to life and praised Sanford Greene’s striking cover artwork, which features Static alongside Cyborg in an energetic, music-inspired design.
