Balkan Bakery, a longtime La Grange destination for Serbian and Balkan specialties, is entering a new chapter with a renovated space, refreshed branding and an expanded menu planned for September.
Located at 541 S. La Grange Road, the family-owned bakery has been serving the community since 2007. Its renovation introduces indoor and outdoor seating, a pergola and patio, artisan display cases and a European-inspired atmosphere, all while preserving the traditional recipes that have defined the business.
The expanded menu will feature hot panini and toast sandwiches, salads and snack bowls incorporating traditional Balkan ingredients such as ajvar, kulen and kajmak. Customers can continue to enjoy favorites including burek, cakes and pastries, crepes, croissants, gelato, coffee and specialty grocery items!
Balkan Bakery is also preparing to launch The Gourmet Vault, a sister company and online store that will offer Balkan products and specialty grocery items for nationwide shipping, later this year.
These updates represent an exciting investment in a family business that has been part of La Grange for nearly two decades, bringing together Balkan culinary traditions and a fresh experience for today’s customers.
