| Class Description: In this course, students will explore how to paint while developing a strong understanding of value, color relationships, and composition. Through guided lessons, they will experiment with a variety of color schemes and techniques to capture beauty, movement, and atmosphere using acrylic paints. Students will learn how to observe details closely and translate what they see into expressive and thoughtful artwork. The course blends clear instruction, live demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on practice, allowing students to build confidence and refine their skills over time. The class will be structured in focused units: Weeks 1 & 2 will concentrate on still life, weeks 3 & 4 will explore painting birds, and weeks 5 & 6 will focus on landscapes. By the end of the course, students will have deeper technical knowledge needed to portray a range of subjects and environments effectively in their own acrylic paintings. |
