Why It Matters
Proceeds from this event support CAAEL – the Chicago Area Alternative Education League – a nonprofit organization that has empowered at-risk and special education students for nearly 50 years. CAAEL reaches more than 5,000 students annually, providing access to over 900 athletic and academic events across 30 counties in Illinois.
CAAEL’s programs are integrated directly into the school day, ensuring that students who face emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges have the chance to participate in positive, team-based activities. From flag football and basketball to spelling bees, art fairs, and chess tournaments, CAAEL helps students learn the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal accountability—skills that translate far beyond the classroom.
