Helping Minds Thrive in La Grange
Meet Dr. Kristen Tyler, a psychologist and executive functioning coach dedicated to empowering children, adolescents, and adults to overcome everyday challenges related to organization, time management, focus, and emotional regulation. As the founder of Design Your Mind: Executive Functioning Center, Kristen brings a unique and much-needed resource to La Grange — one that targets a growing and underserved population struggling with ADHD and executive functioning (EF) skills.

A Practice Built on Purpose
Founded in March 2025, Design Your Mind was born from both personal experience and professional passion. “I have family members who struggle with ADHD and EF challenges, and I was shocked by the lack of available resources,” Kristen explains. “I love helping people navigate their personal journeys and meet their goals — so I decided to build something that truly meets this community need.”
Even the name of the practice came from an inspired moment. When her daughter asked what she was working on, Kristen replied, “I’m designing a new business,” and the phrase Design Your Mind clicked — a perfect reflection of the center’s mission.
Who They Help
Design Your Mind offers tailored coaching services to:
- Children, adolescents, and young adults with executive functioning or ADHD-related difficulties
- Women experiencing perimenopause or menopause, a time when executive functioning changes can be profound
Using evidence-based interventions, each session focuses on individual goals — from building better focus at school or work to learning time management techniques and emotion regulation strategies.
What Makes Design Your Mind Unique
“There are very few practices like this,” Kristen says. “While schools do their best, resources are limited, and many families are left without the support they need. Design Your Mind works hand-in-hand with families and schools to go deeper — using holistic, personalized approaches that truly support the whole person.”
A Natural Fit in La Grange
Kristen chose to base her practice in La Grange because of the community’s warmth and inclusivity. As a local mom with two children attending Cossitt Elementary, she’s deeply connected to the area and actively involved in both school and community life.
“We love frequenting the restaurants, supporting the shops, and spending time in the parks. Even beyond La Grange, our family volunteers regularly at the Share Food Share Love pantry,” she adds.
Just Getting Started
Kristen hopes to grow her solo practice into a small team of executive functioning coaches to meet the increasing demand for these services in the area.
“Watching someone accomplish a difficult task or make a lasting change — it’s why I do what I do. It’s genuinely inspiring.”
Fun Fact
Kristen once considered becoming a botanist! Her appreciation for nature is still part of her work, as she often incorporates the outdoors into sessions to promote healing and calm.
