The LADSE Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Transition Center participates in the Farmers Market through its Deaf Thumbs project, a nonprofit initiative that helps students build independent living and vocational skills. Through this program, students are involved in planting, propagating, and caring for houseplants, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment.
Plants grown through the Deaf Thumbs program are offered for sale at the market, giving students the opportunity to engage with the community while developing practical skills. Their booth reflects both the quality of their work and the mission of supporting student growth and independence.
This vendor participates during the school year when classes are in session.
