The La Grange community is invited to take part in an important conversation about the future of one of its most valued institutions.
As part of National Library Week, local supporters are exploring the creation of a La Grange Public Library Foundation—an initiative designed to help guide and support the library over the next 20 years.

Why This Matters
The current library building is approaching a milestone—20 years in November 2027. With that in mind, a group of dedicated community members, including former board members, the Friends of the Library, and local resident Steve Palmer, are looking ahead.
A foundation could:
- Support long-term funding and programming
- Enhance community engagement
- Help ensure the library continues evolving with the needs of La Grange residents
Get Involved
Community input is a key part of this process. Whether attending the event or not, residents are encouraged to learn more and share their interest through the Library’s official page:
- Learn more and submit feedback: https://lagrangelibrary.org/library-foundation-celebration/
Participation is open to all, and feedback gathered will help shape what comes next for the library.
This event represents an early step in defining the next chapter of the La Grange Public Library—one built with direct input from the community it serves.
