This section is for those vendors selling produced items. If you are selling a service, please proceed to the next part of the application.
Please review the Temporary Food Vendor Checklist provided by the Village of La Grange. Vendors will be expected to abide by the items on this checklist.
All vendors serving non-covered, non-pre-packaged food must have a handwashing station in their tent. If you don't have a food-service designed portable hand washing station, please look at the diagram.
A cottage food vendor is an individual who prepares and packages approved food products in their primary residential kitchen (or, where permitted, a farm kitchen) for direct sale to consumers. These products must be non-potentially hazardous foods as defined under Illinois Cottage Food regulations and may not require time or temperature control for safety.
Cottage food vendors must be registered with their local health department and may sell only the foods they personally produce and package at their registered location. Products must be pre-packaged and properly labeled in accordance with Illinois requirements and may be sold directly to consumers only (such as at a farmers market). Cottage food products may not be sold for resale, wholesale distribution, or through restaurants or retail stores.
Important Note: Baking at home does not automatically qualify a vendor to sell at a farmers market. Only vendors operating as registered Illinois Cottage Food Operations, and meeting all labeling, insurance, and market requirements, are eligible to participate.
This section ensures transparency for shoppers and fair representation among vendors.
Vendors who are not USDA Certified Organic may not label or market products as “organic.” Such vendors may describe production methods using qualifying language (e.g., “grown using organic practices”) but may not imply certification.
Vendor spaces are sold as standard market spaces providing approximately 144 square feet of usable vending area (commonly described as 12’ × 12’). Actual dimensions and orientation may vary based on site conditions, accessibility requirements, and overall market layout. Some spaces may be configured as rectangular (e.g., 15’ × 10’) while still providing equivalent or greater usable area.
Space requests are subject to availability and final approval.
The Farmers Market is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Requests for accommodations will not be considered as part of vendor acceptance, placement priority, or product selection decisions.
Please take note of the insurance template pages. Your coverage must meet or exceed the listed amounts. All text regarding the "Additional Insured" must match.
