Put Your Skeleton in the 2026 Hunt

The skeletons came back to La Grange last year — and they liked it so much, they’ve decided to stick around for another October.

Skeletober returns with a month-long Skeleton Scavenger Hunt, themed drinks, hauntingly good local deals, and plenty of reasons for families and visitors to explore La Grange.

It’s your chance to bring traffic to your business, have a little fun, and become part of a fall tradition that’s quickly taking on a life of its own.

What’s In It for You:

    • QR code signage placed outside your business (or a distinct location if you don’t have a storefront)
    • Your skeleton and business featured in the Skeletober Scavenger Hunt
    • Custom landing page with your skeleton’s story, business logo, and social links
    • Listing on the printed and mobile map

Pricing:

    • LGBA Members: $50
    • Non-Members: $100

→ Includes QR signage, landing page, map listing, and full scavenger hunt participation

Skeleton & Decor Details:

    • Businesses are responsible for supplying and decorating their own skeletons.  When you apply, we will give you the option to have the LGBA purchase a skeleton on your behalf ftom Horton’s Ace Hardware for $80.00.
    • Skeletons must be life-sized (or close), publicly accessible, and, if displayed outdoors, weather-resistant and securely fastened to a stable fixture or structure. If you do not have an appropriate display location, LGBA can help identify a public location elsewhere in La Grange.
    • Decorations must follow these guidelines:
       
      • Nothing political or campaign-related
      • Nothing offensive, violent, or discriminatory
      • Family-friendly and fun is the goal!
      • No costumes or themes deemed to be in poor taste or inconsistent with the spirit of the event
    • The La Grange Business Association and its Board of Directors reserve the right to determine if a skeleton’s display does not meet these guidelines, and may request changes or removal at their discretion.
    • The La Grange Business Association and the Village of La Grange are not responsible for any damage to or caused by a skeleton or its decorations. All displays are placed at the sole responsibility and liability of the participating business. Businesses are expected to secure their skeletons safely and follow all guidelines provided.
    • Any skeletons or decorations placed on Village of La Grange property without prior approval may be removed at the Village’s discretion.  Additionally, the Village of La Grange reserves the right to remove any skeleton or display — regardless of location — that is determined to be unsafe, in violation of Village codes, or inconsistent with the character of the community.
