Vagabond Botanical is where design and nature meet. Founder Jenna Fowler began the business 10 years ago out of her basement, transforming her love for bold, artful plant styling into a thriving La Grange storefront. With her background in fashion design, Jenna brings an eye for the unusual and a flair for creating moody, modern arrangements that stand out. From seasonal outdoor containers to interior styling for boutiques, private homes, and hotels, Jenna’s work pushes beyond the traditional florist experience and creates unforgettable botanical installations.
In 2019, Jenna was joined by Nicole Drai, an engineer-turned-plant lover who runs the business operations and project management side of Vagabond. Nicole’s strengths complement Jenna’s creativity, allowing the pair to deliver seamless service and white-glove execution. Together, they’ve built Vagabond into not just a shop, but a botanical destination in downtown La Grange.
The Journey & Inspiration
Jenna’s inspiration began with a simple challenge — creating something black and moody for a stylish friend, rather than traditional pink florals. That creative spark led to a loyal following of clients looking for something fresh and different. She loves the ability to create something new every day and to bring her distinctive vision to the community.
Nicole’s journey started when she attended one of Jenna’s succulent parties and quickly fell in love with both the plants and the business itself. What began as a client relationship blossomed into a partnership, strengthening Vagabond’s foundation for growth.
Community & LGBA
Vagabond has been an LGBA member for four years, with favorite events including Skeletober and the Sidewalk Sale. The business also gives back by supporting local schools and community programs like La Grange Neighbors and Newcomers.
Looking ahead, Jenna and Nicole see Vagabond continuing to grow into a true botanical destination, while also inviting the community to join in through Thursday evening workshops running through the end of the year.
